Paris: Another medal has come in India’s account on the fourth day of Paris Olympics 2024. Manu Bhakar, along with her partner Sarabjot Singh, won this medal by defeating Korea in the bronze medal match in the 10m air mixed air pistol event.
Earlier, Manu won the bronze medal in the singles event of the same event on Sunday. This is Manu Bhakar’s second medal in the Paris Olympics. With this, 22-year-old Manu has become the first Indian to win two medals in an Olympics. While Sarabjot has won her first medal in the Paris Olympics.
Both medals came in shooting
Indian pair of Manu Bhakar and Sarabjot defeated South Korea’s Lee Wonho and Oh Ye Jin 16-10 in the bronze medal match of the 10m air pistol mixed team event on Tuesday. With this, the Indian pair captured the bronze medal. This is also India’s second medal in the Paris Olympics. India has won both these medals in shooting.
Manu Bhakar left Sindhu and Sushil Kumar behind
It is worth noting that before Manu Bhakar, there have been only two Indian players in Olympic history who have won two medals in individual events. Sushil Kumar won medals in wrestling in 2008 and 2012. While star shuttler PV Sindhu has won medals in 2016 and 2020. But Manu Bhakar has gone ahead of wrestler Sushil Kumar and shuttler PV Sindhu in this matter that she has won both her medals in the same Olympics. Sushil and Sindhu have won their medals in different Olympics.
